Nissan Reveals the 2027 Kicks Rock Creek for Adventure Ready Canadian Drivers

Alberta drivers who leave the pavement behind on weekends now have a new reason to look at the Kicks lineup. Nissan has confirmed a Rock Creek grade for the 2027 Kicks, built for gravel roads, campground turnoffs and the mixed-surface driving that fills an Alberta summer.

Here’s what’s confirmed about the new grade, and why it matters if you’re shopping a compact SUV that needs to do more than handle city driving.

What’s Confirmed on the 2027 Kicks Rock Creek

The Rock Creek is Nissan’s first off-road-focused Kicks. It’s based on the Kicks SV grade but adds standard Intelligent All-Wheel Drive, an exclusive Off-Road drive mode with unique traction-control tuning, and Hill Descent Control as available equipment for controlled speed on loose downhill terrain.

Outside, Rock Creek gets its own look: gloss black mirrors, front and rear fascias and exterior trim, a unique grille, amber daytime running lights, and 17-inch Rock Creek-exclusive alloy wheels. Roof rails with cross bars are rated to carry 75 kg, enough for a rooftop cargo box, kayak or bike rack.

Inside, Rock Creek swaps in TailorFit-appointed seating with contrast stitching, Rock Creek-branded floor mats, and a heated, TailorFit-wrapped steering wheel. Compared with the SV it’s based on, Rock Creek adds Rear Automatic Braking, an HD Intelligent Around View Monitor with Moving Object Detection, and extra interior ambient lighting.

Every 2027 Kicks grade, including Rock Creek, shares the same 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine, producing 141 hp and 140 lb-ft of torque through an Xtronic continuously variable transmission. The differences between grades come down to drivetrain, technology and, on Rock Creek, off-road hardware.

What Matters for Alberta Shoppers Now

Rock Creek’s numbers back up its rugged look. Ground clearance sits at 214.2 mm, with an 18.0-degree approach angle and a 26.7-degree departure angle, geometry that matters when a gravel road turns into a rutted campground access lane.

  • Standard Intelligent AWD with an exclusive Off-Road drive mode
  • Available Hill Descent Control
  • 214.2 mm ground clearance
  • 18.0-degree approach and 26.7-degree departure angles

Cargo space favours function: 676.8 litres behind the rear seats and 1,418.7 litres with the second row folded, enough for coolers, bikes and camping gear on longer trips. Combined fuel economy for the AWD-only Rock Creek is rated at 7.8 L/100 km.

Inside, Rock Creek seats five, with 60/40 split-fold rear seats and 1,083.4 mm of legroom. Four USB-C ports keep phones charged on longer drives, and a fixed underfloor storage system adds a spot for muddy boots or recovery gear.

Standard driver-assistance coverage includes Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian and Cyclist Detection, Blind Spot Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Rear Automatic Braking, useful cues when backing out of a campsite or merging onto a rural highway. An HD Intelligent Around View Monitor with Moving Object Detection is also standard, adding visibility around the vehicle on tight forestry roads or crowded parking lots.

Getting Behind the Wheel

The 2027 Nissan Kicks lineup, including S, SV, SR and Rock Creek grades, is coming to Alberta dealerships. The Rock Creek’s off-road-focused equipment marks the first time this kind of feature set has appeared on Kicks, joining Rogue and Pathfinder as Nissan’s rugged-focused Rock Creek family.

A Kicks Built for More Than Pavement

The 2027 Kicks Rock Creek pairs standard AWD, an exclusive Off-Road drive mode and 214.2 mm of ground clearance with the practicality Kicks buyers already expect: real cargo space, a full standard driver-assistance suite and a cabin built for daily use.
