Comparing the Nissan Rogue to the Hyundai Tucson: The Nissan still has the upper hand

When it comes to choosing a small crossover SUV, there are a lot of options on the market. But two of the most popular models are the Nissan Rogue and Hyundai Tucson. Both vehicles offer excellent value and plenty of features, but how do they stack up against one another? Let’s take a closer look at what makes these two vehicles stand out from each other.

Price Point

The Nissan Rogue is slightly less expensive than the Hyundai Tucson, and it also offers more features for your money. The base trim level of the Rogue starts at around $30,548, while the base trim level of the Tucson starts at around $30,953. When you compare all available trim levels for both vehicles, you will find that the Rogue offers more bang for your buck in terms of features and technology.

Performance

Both vehicles offer similar performance capabilities with front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive options. The Rogue boasts an identical standard engine to the Tucson with its 2.5L four-cylinder engine. The Nissan's 2.5-litre engine offers 181 horsepower compared to 187 horsepower from the Tucson's engine. On the other hand, the Rogue also offers a 201-hp 1.5-litre 3-cylinder engine if you want more power. In terms of handling, both vehicles offer a smooth ride, but some drivers may find that the Rogue's suspension provides better overall control during sharp turns or bumpy roads.

Interior Features

The interior design of both cars is stylish and modern, but here again, there are some differences between them that could make one more attractive than another depending on your needs and preferences. For example, both cars feature comfortable seating with cloth upholstery as standard, but if you want leather seating, then you will need to upgrade to higher trim levels in either vehicle. Additionally, both cars offer plenty of cargo space, but if you need extra room, then you may find that the Rogue's split rear seat design, and available remote-folding rear seats, can provide extra flexibility when transporting items such as large furniture or sports equipment.

Finally, when it comes to technological features such as infotainment systems or driver assistance functions like blind spot monitoring or adaptive cruise control, then you'll find that most advanced features come standard in high-tier trims levels of both vehicles so it really comes down to which model offers more value for money when selecting these options. That said, the Rogue offers certain safety features the Tucson doesn't offer, like Intelligent Around View Monitor, ProPILOT Assist and Traffic Sign Recognition.

At the end of the day, both models offer plenty of features and plenty of value. But when it comes down to comparing the Nissan Rogue to the Hyundai Tucson, the Rogue still has a slight upper hand. It offers more features for your money than its competitor, as well as more advanced safety systems that come standard in select trims. So if you're looking for a small crossover SUV with plenty of features and good value, the Nissan Rogue is definitely worth taking a closer look at.
