Here’s How the 2023 Nissan Rogue Compares to the 2023 Honda CR-V

The compact SUV segment is one of the most popular in Canada and it is full of competent and attractive models. Here is why the 2023 Nissan Rogue might be a better choice for you than the 2023 Honda CR-V.

A better value

The 2023 Nissan Rogue is a better value than the 2023 Honda CR-V since it offers a similar level of equipment and technologies while costing thousands less. Indeed, the recently revised CR-V makes you pay a lot for its reputation while being somewhat stingy with features. For example, the entry-level Rogue offers blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, variable intermittent wipers, a heated steering wheel, and a larger touchscreen despite costing $5,400 less than the entry-level CR-V. In addition, adding optional features is also more affordable on the Rogue since lower trim levels receive many additional features that are only available on the upper trims of the CR-V, such as front and rear parking sensors, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a tri-zone automatic climate control system, and heated rear seats.

A modern powertrain

While Honda is known for making good powertrains, you shouldn’t overlook the 2023 Nissan Rogue in that area. Indeed, the Rogue now benefits from a very modern 1.5L turbocharged three-cylinder engine in all but the entry-level version. This powertrain is more powerful and more efficient than the 1.5L turbocharged four-cylinder unit found under the hood of every version of the CR-V except the most expensive one which costs $7,200 more than even the top-of-the-line Rogue Platinum. Paired with a revised CVT transmission, this engine makes the Rogue very smooth and enjoyable to drive.

A generous cabin

The 2023 Nissan Rogue is also in front of the 2023 Honda CR-V in terms of interior space since it offers more head and legroom for the front passengers, which makes long road trips more comfortable by giving the driver and passenger more space to stretch out. In the cargo compartment, the CR-V has a slight advantage in the gasoline-powered models, but the battery in the top-of-the-line hybrid model cuts back on luggage room, which makes the Rogue a winner in terms of capacity when comparing better-equipped versions.
