Here’s What is New on the 2024 Nissan GT-R

Despite having been introduced in its current generation back in 2008, the Nissan GT-R remains modern and up-to-date due to yearly changes and significant refreshes. For 2024, these modifications are even a bit more involved than usual.

New front and rear ends

The 2024 Nissan GT-R receives revised front and rear facias that give it a more modern and aggressive look than previous models. This includes a slightly larger bumper with revised sides and a new grille mesh design at the front, while the rear benefits from similar changes to the bumper and a new wing mounted on the trunk. In addition to the new rear wing, the GT-R Nismo also receives alterations to its canards, front lip, and rear diffuser.

More downforce and the same coefficient of drag

Most of the modifications applied to the 2024 Nissan GT-R aim to improve its aerodynamics by providing more downforce while retaining the same coefficient of drag which is a very low 0.26. This has been achieved by carefully studying the impact of each change on the performance of the GT-R in a wind tunnel. Indeed, to counterbalance the 10% greater surface area of the rear wing, Nissan engineers chose a new mesh design for the front grille that lets air reach the engine and the brakes more smoothly, making for a new look while also improving cooling and drag. The smaller changes to the bumpers and the diffusers are also responsible for allowing more downforce while keeping the same level of drag.

The return of the T-Spec special edition

The 2024 Nissan GT-R sees the return of the T-Spec model, an homage to the namesake version of the previous generation of the GT-R. This special edition features many of the Nismo’s enhancements despite being built upon the Premium version. For example, the T-Spec is equipped with Nismo carbon-ceramic brakes, gold-painted 20-inch wheels, a Nismo-tuned Vehicle Dynamic Control, and wider front fenders. In addition to badging and its unique Mori Green interior, the 2024 Nissan GT-R T-Spec distinguishes itself with its exterior paint colours, which are based on some of the most iconic paints that were available on the older R-34 GT-R: Millennium Jade and Midnight Purple.
